Colbert Breaks 60-meter Hurdles Record, UMBC Indoor Track and Field Wins Six Events at Patriot Games

FAIRFAX, Va.-- The UMBC men's and women's indoor track and field teams combined to win six events at the George Mason Patriot Games Saturday, including freshman Imani Colbert (Upper Marlboro, Md./C.H. Flowers) breaking the UMBC record in the 60-meter hurdles for the fourth time this season. Colbert crossed the line first in an ECAC qualifying time of 8.57.

Junior Britney Foreman (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) tied her own school record in the 60-meter dash, finishing first in an ECAC qualifying time of 7.66. Junior Sara Parkinson (Chorley, England/Loughborough University) earned a gold in the 3,000-meter run, finishing in a UMBC season-best time of 10:08.86. Sophomore Jasmin Batchelor (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) earned a bronze in the high jump, hitting a mark of 1.55m.

On the men's side, junior Adrian Arthur (Bowie, Md./Bowie) won the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.49, while finishing fourth in the 60-meter dash in an IC4A qualifying time of 6.98. Junior Keith Brown (Columbia, Md./McDonough) placed first in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.30, while junior Camal Pugh (Clinton, Md./Oxon Hill) finished second in 8.37. Senior Brian Pendleton (Aberdeen, Md./Harford Tech) won the triple jump with a leap of 14.03m and also claimed bronze in the long jump with a mark of 6.83m.

Other medal winners from the Patriot Games were sophomore Victor Gilreath (Catonsville, Md./Western Tech/Maryland), who placed second in the high jump with a school season-best jump of 2.00m, and junior Dominic Devaud(Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley), who earned silver in the pole vault with a mark of 4.55m. Junior Antonio Thomas (Columbia, Md./Long Reach) placed third in the 60-meter dash in an IC4A qualifying time of 6.97.

The Retrievers return to action next weekend at The Armory Invitational in New York, N.Y.
