Biography

On Fiorani: The Retrievers’ active career scoring leader who should crack the top 10 in most offensive categories in her senior season…has good speed…also a member of UMBC’s women’s soccer team in the fall.

 

2005: Finished the season second on the team with 42 points, 30 goals and 12 assists… Posted eight multi-goal games on the season… Played in all 15 games for the Retrievers, starting 12… Posted her 100th career goal against Stony Brook in the Retrievers’ second-to-last game of the season… Led the team with 44 draw controls, 83 shots, 49 shots on goal and seven free-position goals… Collected 26 ground balls on the season, fifth most on the team… Ranked second in the conference with 2.93 draw controls per game, fourth with 0.47 free-position goals per game and fifth with 5.53 shots per game… Named America East Co-Player of the Week on April 25 after scoring nine goals in two games… Posted a season-best seven points on five goals and two assists in the Retrievers’ 16-7 victory over America East foe Binghamton… Scored another five goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist for a total of six points in UMBC’s next game, an 18-14 win over conference rival Stony Brook… Tallied four goals and added an assist in UMBC’s loss to Ohio… Posted a hat trick in the Retrievers’ season-opening loss at Loyola and in their first conference victory of the season, a 14-13 win over Vermont… Also scored the game-winner with 23 seconds remaining and added an assist against the Catamounts.

 

2004: Received America East first-team all-conference honors as she led the team in goals with 34, and was second in both assists (13) and points (47)… Scored in all but one game throughout the season, with 13 multi-goal performances… Earned America East Player of the Week and Inside Lacrosse Honorable Mention Player of the Week on April 5 after tallying eight goals and three assists in two games, including five goals and all three assists in the conference-opening win over Stony Brook… Also led the team in ground balls with 36 on the season and was tied for second in draws with 25.

 

2003: Named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year... Ranked second on the team in scoring with 37 goals and 47 points... Earned Rookie of the Week honors on March 17 after scoring six goals in two games... Notched her first career goal and point against Duke in the first game of the season... Had a five goal, two assist performance at Cal-Berkeley.

 

Background: Was a two-year all-county player and all-state finalist at Liberty… Helped her squad to a Mid-Atlantic National Team No. 3 ranking… Also lettered in soccer and basketball, as all three teams became Carroll County champions during her high school career… Excelled in soccer, receiving all-county, all-CMC, all-state, and Baltimore Sun Player of the Week awards… An all-county and all-state band member as a trumpet player… Also a member of UMBC’s women’s soccer team… Daughter of Joe and Laura Fiorani… Born June 4, 1984… Majoring in psychology.
