On Garaffa: Will compete for playing time as a freshman.

 

Background: Captained her high school team as a senior… Received the Coaches Award and the Four-Year Varsity Award in 2005… Led Howell to the conference and state tournaments as a junior… Also lettered in soccer for two years in high school… Was a member of the National Honor Society, the National Honor Roll and Who’s Who Among American High School Students… received the Freehold Regional High School District Award of Excellence… Was an Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholar and a Johns Hopkins Scholar… Enjoys surfing, painting and playing the piano… Daughter of Pat and Laurie Garaffa… Has a younger brother, Joe, and a younger sister, Emily… Born Nov. 9, 1986… Is considering majoring in pre-physical therapy.
