Biography

2010-11: Finished eighth in the 200-yard freestyle and 12th in the 1,650 free at the Patriot Invitational… His 1,650 time of 16:31.41 was a career-best time… Also set season-best marks in the 200 free (1:44.33) and 500 free (4:42.60) at the same meet… Best finish during the dual meet season was second in the 200 free against Bucknell.

 

2009-10: Placed eighth in the 200-yard freestyle and 500 free at the Patriot Invitational… Set a career-high time in the mile in 16.41.58 at the America East Championships… Also set a season-best time in the 200 free (1:43.63) at the conference meet… Swam season-best times in the 100 free (49.16) and 500 free (4:40.83) at the Patriot Invitational… Named to the America East Honor Roll.

 

2008-09: Finished 14th in the 500-yard freestyle and 15th in the 200 free at the Patriot Invitational… Placed fourth in the 500 free against Marist… Swam season-best times in the 100 free (48.12), 200 free (1.42.63) and 500 free (4:40.46) at the America East Championships.


Background: Recorded a Maryland state record in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:00.58… Named to the All-Anne Arundel County swim team in 2008 by the Capital Gazette.

 

Personal: Son of Ellen and Erik Deklau… Has a younger sister, Lisa… Majoring in emergency health services... Born Jan. 10, 1990.
