2023 Outdoor

  • Placed fifth versus Johns Hopkins/Loyola-Md. with a 9:54.93 mark in the 3,000m steeplechase
  • Earned fourth place in the mile with a speed of 4:23.22 at the Bison Classic 
  • Placed second in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Towson Invitational 

2022-23 Indoor 

  • Team’s top performer in the 5000 meters at the America East Championships and set a personal best mark of 15:24.81

2022 Outdoor: Competed in the 5,000m during his first outdoor season for the Retrievers… Had a season-best time of 16:06.67 at the Mason Spring Invitational in April.

2021-22 Indoor: Competed in the 3,000m and 5,000m during the indoor season… Ran a 16:12.69 in the 5,000m at the Liberty Open… Opened the year at the Navy Invitational by running a 9:00.96, his best in the event during the season.

BACKGROUND: Lettered in both cross country and track at Mount Saint Joseph… Was named Most Improved Runner his freshman and sophomore seasons of cross country and indoor track respectively… Holds a school record as part of the 4x800m relay, breaking a 14-year-old record… Helped his team win the 2019 Indoor Private State Championship… Son of Marie and Mike Sakowicz… Has one brother, Austin… Plans on majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a career ambition of becoming a biochemist or pharmaceutical chemist… Lists his favorite musical artist as Sammy Adams and his favorite movie as Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift.
