Day two festivities began at Sheila & Morris Cregger Track with an individual event gold along with a career best in the field. In the 1500 meter run, freshman
Tyler Edson made his collegiate debut by finishing first, crossing the tape at 3:58.44.
Aiden Walker came away with eighth overall (49.83m) in men's discus throw, building on a top personal mark set a week prior and second in the America East. Shortly after on the track, the 4x100 meter relay saw tough competition against the top schools from South Carolina to finish fifth overall at 41.67s.
As the afternoon went on, action turned to those members of the relay in their respective individual event as they each set personal records. Sophomore
Fred-Morgan Iheanacho finished with a time of 10.92 while junior Chukwumdi Osuji (10.55) doubled down on last weekend's success in the straightaway event. Senior
Jaeden Burke improved on a previous personal best set three years ago at the George Mason University Spring Invitational, sprinting to a time of 10.63. To round out electric 100 meter performances, fellow upperclassman Ali Bowen made the finals in his collegiate debut for the event, entering an elite field of the nation's best, seeded sixth overall at 10.49. They found company within among the top five of the conference ranks, owning three spots early in the outdoor campaign.
This relay would stack onto the momentum created earlier at Weems Baskin in the 200 meter dash to make for a productive afternoon. Bowen (21.99) and Osuji (22.16) now lay claim to personal records they previously ran during indoor season, making a case to belong among the conference best. Osuji finds himself just outside the top five at sixth in the America East while Bowen holds the early 200 crown.
Michael Arnold made the 400 meter hurdles in his event to win for a second consecutive week, setting a personal record previously earned at last year's conference championships. Arnold's 51.99 is currently within one second of the UMBC school record. At the same distance excluding the hurdles, junior
Marquis Miller had a career race in the 400 meter dash. Miller would finish sixth overall at 47.73. Miller is less than a tenth of a second from the leading time in the conference, behind Albany's Quincy Chery.
