Burr, Nelson Lead Men’s Track and Field on Day Two of IC4A Championships

UMBC men’s track and field continued championship season with day two of the IC4A Championships in Williamsburg on Saturday.

Williamsburg, Va.-- UMBC men's track and field continued championship season with day two of the IC4A Championships in Williamsburg on Saturday. Brian Nelson and Toren Burr each turned in top ten finishes to lead the Retrievers.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Brian Nelson finished just outside of qualifying in the 100m prelims, finishing ninth with a time of 10.66.
Burr followed up his strong performance on Friday with another top ten performance, this time finishing ninth in the javelin at 54.28m.
Glory Fagbuyi and Shavar Staats also competed in the 100m prelims going 24th (10.99) and 27th (11.06) respectively.
Nicolas Alphonse finished 12th in the 110m hurdle prelims with a time of 14.96.
Mack McKeever had a13th place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase, crossing the finish line in a time of 9:44.33.
Sam Brosh in the 1,500m (33rd, 3:55.19), Tyler Dregely in the 800m (30th, 1:54.96), and Cameron Hindle in the 5,000m (31st, 15:26.29) also competed for the Retrievers on Saturday.
