Khairat Wins Triple Jump to Lead Retrievers at Mason Spring Invitational

UMBC men’s track and field had another strong showing this weekend at the Mason Spring Invitational. Ibrahim Khairat led the charge by winning the triple jump at the meet.

Fairfax, Va.-- UMBC men's track and field had another strong showing this weekend at the Mason Spring Invitational. Ibrahim Khairat led the charge by winning the triple jump at the meet.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Khairat led the way for the Retrievers, winning the triple jump at 14.88m.
Toren Burr had a pair of top ten finishes, taking tenth in the hammer throw (51.88m) and fifth in the javelin (60.01m). Jameer Robinson finished just behind him in the javelin in tenth with a throw of 55.40m.
On the track, Shavar Staats and Michael Arnold had a pair of third place finishes in the 100m and 400m hurdles. Staats took third in the 100m in a time of 10.83 with Arnold taking third in the 400m hurdles in 54.98.
Nicolas Alphonse, Mack McKeever, and Daron Taylor rounded out the runners taking seventh in the 110m hurdles (14.93m), eighth in the 3,000m steeplechase (9:40.62), and tenth in the 3,000m steeplechase (9:41.36).
The 4x400m relay team of Arnold, Jayo Adegboyo, Marquis Miller, and Julian Vissering finished fourth in a time of 3:18.27.
