BALTIMORE– UMBC track and field will head to Philadelphia for the historic 126th running of the Penn Relays, hosted by Toyota this Thursday through Saturday. This will be the final meet of the season prior to the America East Championships next weekend.

Last Time Out (Hopkins/Loyola Invitational):
- Shavar Staats paced the track athletes with a first-place finish in the 100m, crossing the tape in a time of 10.74. Brian Nelson (3rd, 10.89), Glory Fagbuyi (5th, 10.93), and Julian Vissering (9th, 11.17) also finished in the top ten of the race.
- Nicolas Alphonse and Sharwin Vyapuri went six-ten in the 110m hurdles with times of 15.56 and 16.79.
- Marquis Miller led a trio in the 200m, winning the race in a time of 21.62. Michael Arnold and Vissering finished fourth and seventh in times of 21.81 and 22.31 respectively.
- Sam Brosh also won his race, taking gold in the 1,500m with a time of 3:49.79. Just behind him was Zachary Taylor in eighth place with a time of 3:57.28.
- Taylor also took seventh in the 800m with a time of 1:56.39, just behind Joel Simpson in fourth (1:54.61), Mulisa Reggasa in fifth (1:54.91), and Mark Unger in sixth (1:55.37).
- Mack McKeever and Daron Taylor went two-three in the 3,000m steeplechase with times of 9:17.48 and 9:37.08 respectively.
- Arnold and Alphonse rounded out the individual runners with a third-place (54.32) and sixth place (55.93) finish in the 400m hurdles.
- The 4x100m relay team picked up a win in the relay with a time of 42.08.
- Thomas Hamby and Jameer Robinson led the way with second-place finishes in the shot put and javelin. Hamby had his best toss of 13.91m with Robinson having a throw of 53.92m.
- Hamby also took fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.32m.
- Ibrahim Khairat and Cameron Rice went three-eight in the long jump at 7.00m and 6.31m respectively.
- Joseph Carlson took fifth in the discus (42.65m) and eighth in the shot put (12.56m), with Alexander Ianniello taking sixth in the pole vault (3.80m) to round out the field.
