Burr Leads Men’s Track and Field at Bucknell Outdoor Classic on Friday

UMBC men’s track and field kicked off the Bucknell Outdoor Classic on Friday with a handful of athletes competing.

Lewisburg, Pa.-- UMBC men's track and field kicked off the Bucknell Outdoor Classic on Friday with a handful of athletes competing. Toren Burr led the way for the Retrievers with a top-ten finish in the field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Burr finished ninth in the javelin with a toss of 59.45m. He had the highest finish of any Retrievers on Friday.
  • Jameer Robinson also competed in the javelin, taking 21st with a toss of 52.36m.
  • Ibrahim Khairat rounded out the field competitors with a 14th place finish in the long jump at 6.82m.
  • On the track, Mack McKeever and Zachary Tayor finished 20th and 22nd respectively in the 1,500m unseeded race. McKeever finished in a time of 3:57.83 while Taylor crossed the finish line in 3:58.28.
  • Cameron Hindle took 21st in the 5,000m invitational with a time of 14:34.57.
  • Sam Brosh rounded out the runners taking 17th in the 1,500m invitational race with a time of 3:49.86.

The final day of the Bucknell Outdoor Classic will commence on Saturday, April 16 at 9:30 a.m.
