Men’s Track and Field Has Strong Day at Towson Invitational

Toren Burr led the way for the Retrievers on day one with a first place finish in the hammer throw. The Retrievers as a whole had a strong day as a handful of Retrievers competed on day one.

Towson, Md.-- Toren Burr led the way for the Retrievers on day one with a first place finish in the hammer throw. The Retrievers as a whole had a strong day as a handful of Retrievers competed on day one.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Burr was the lone Retriever winner on the men's side, taking first in the hammer throw with a toss of 55.10m. Thomas Hamby was just behind him at 44.09m in 11th.
  • Cameron Rice also had a strong result in the field taking ninth in the triple jump at 13.59m.
  • Michael Arnold and Nicolas Alphonse took third and seventh in the 400m hurdles with times of 54.73 and 56.55 respectively.
  • Shamar Barnes rounded out the field with his sixth place finish in the 100m finals in a time of 10.67.

Day two of the Towson Invitational will commence tomorrow morning at Unitas Stadium.
