McKeever, Brosh Pace Men’s Track and Field at Weems Baskin Invitational

McKeever and Brosh were the top finishers on the men’s side on day one of the Weems Baskin Invitational.

Columbia, S.C.-- McKeever and Brosh were the top finishers on the men's side on day one of the Weems Baskin Invitational. Several Retrievers earned top ten finishes on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

McKeever finished the steeplechase in first place with a time of 9:43.20. Daron Taylor and Zachary Taylor were just behind him in fourth and fifth with times of 10:05.88 and 10:08.45 respectively.
Sam Brosh also won his distance event, taking first in the 5,000m with a time of 15:32.23.
Jaeden Burke took fourth in the 400m with a time of 49.92, just ahead of teammate Marquis Miller in eighth in 50.31.
Shamar Barnes and Taheer Pierce rounded out the individual runners with a fourth (10.91) and tenth (11.08) place finish in the 100m.
The 4x800m relay team of Joel Simpson, Tyler Dregely, Lamine Fofana, and Mulisa Reggasa took home third with a time of 7:54.71.
In the field, Toren Burr was the top Retriever with his fourth place finish in the javelin with a toss of 59.56m. Jameer Robinson finished just behind him in eighth with a throw of 53.91m.
Alexander Ianniello and Ibrahim Khairat rounded out the field with Ianniello taking eighth in the pole vault (3.83m) and Khairat taking tenth in the long jump (6.91m).
