Retriever Men’s Track and Field Impresses at Patriot Games

UMBC men’s track and field once again had a strong showing, this time at the George Mason Patriot Games.

Fairfax, Va.-- UMBC men's track and field once again had a strong showing, this time at the George Mason Patriot Games. The Retrievers had a trio in the top five of the 60m dash to lead the way on the track. Rodney Sachiti led the way in the field with a first place finish.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Sachiti won the triple jump with a jump of 13.81m. He also led the way in the long jump, taking fifth with a jump of 6.58m.
Ibrahim Khairat finished just behind Sachiti in the long jump in sixth at 6.53m.
Ian Hoffman and Joseph Carlson took sixth and eighth respectively in the pole vault (4.36m) and the shot put (13.53m).
Toren Burr rounded out the field athletes with a ninth place finish in the weight throw, with a toss of 15.04m.
Glory Fagbuyi led a trio of runners in a very tight 60m dash. Fagbuyi finished second, with Roger Wright taking third, both in 7.10 seconds. The top three in the race all went to a photo finish.
Shamar Barnes was just behind them in fourth at 7.13.
Jayo Adegboyo, David Livingstone, and Wright went four-five-six in the 200m in times of 23.04, 23.20, and 23.22 respectively.
Anthony McKenzie and Nicolas Alphonse rounded out the individual runners with a sixth place finish in the 400m (54.10) and first in the 500m (1:07.72).
The 4x400m relay team of Adegboyo, Livingstone, Taheer Pierce, and Marquis Miller took second in 3:23.91, just .01 seconds off of first.
