Mark Unger earned America East Conference Track and Field Performer of the Week awards for their efforts at the Ramapo Opener on Jan. 19.
The league selected Roberts as the women's Field Performer of the Week for the second consecutive cycle. Roberts won in the shot put with a throw of 50' 1.25" at The Armory in Manhattan. This distance puts her at first in America East, third in the Mid-Atlantic region and the effort is also the third-best throw in UMBC history.
Roberts also placed fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 53' 3', which puts her at sixth in the conference standings.
In the same meet, Unger earned gold in the 800 meters, posting a time of 1:53.06. His mark ranks him first in the conference, ninth in the Mid-Atlantic region and sixth in UMBC history.
The Retrievers head back to University Park, Pa. for the Penn State National meet on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 26-27.
