Soetje Breaks School Record in 500m on Final Day of ECAC/IC4A Championships

MEET RESULTS

Boston, Mass.— UMBC track and field saw a pair of athletes compete on the final day of the IC4A Championships at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center on Sunday. Erick Soetje broke the school record in the 500m run on Sunday.

Erick Soetje earned a silver medal with a new school record time of 1:03.10 in the event. Soetje broke the mark that Joshua Hewitson set in 2010 of 1:03.35.

Thomas Johnson was the other Retriever to compete on Sunday, as he took home 14th in the triple jump with a jump of 14.31m (46'11.5").

The ECAC/IC4A meet closed out the indoor season for the Retrievers. The outdoor portion of the season begins on March 31-April 1 at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Va.
