A Slew of Retriever Women Lead UMBC on Day One of Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pa.—UMBC track and field kicked off the Penn Relays on Thursday, led by the 4x100m relay team that earned a spot in the ECAC final tomorrow afternoon. The Penn Relays will serve as the final tune up before the America East Championships.

Erin Patrice, Amani Wallace, Kara Patrice, and Funmi Daramola took 28th place in the event in a time of 47.11 to earn a spot in tomorrow's finals.

The 4x400m relay team of Daramola, Tori Johnson, Kaya Knake and Wallace finished in 43rd place with a time of 3:54.14.

Individually, Yinka Alabi and Madeleine Entwistle finished 47th and 49th respectively in the 400m hurdles with times of 1:04.71 and 1:04.80. Sophia Cologer rounded out the competitors on Thursday, taking 18th in the 5,000m with a time of 17:11.40.

Day two of the Penn Relays will commence tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
