BALTIMORE – UMBC track and field volunteer assistant coach Kadine Johnson is heading to Kingston, Jamaica in an attempt to make the Jamaican National Team for the hammer throw and earn a trip to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Jackson and McGee Compete at NCAA East Regionals
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – UMBC freshman Mercedes Jackson (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) and sophomore Brandan McGee (Hiram, Ohio/Crestwood) competed in the 200m dash and the 3000m steeplechase, respectively, Friday evening at the NCAA East Preliminaries at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – UMBC junior Amanda Deller (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) finished 29th out of a field of 48 in the shot put at the NCAA Track and Field East Preliminaries on Thursday, at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.

BALTIMORE—Peter Koumlelis has been named assistant track and field coach, head coach David Bobb announced Wednesday. Koumlelis comes to Baltimore after three years as an assistant for America East rival Hartford.
