BALTIMORE – UMBC head swimming and diving coach Chad Cradock has announced the 2018-19 scheduled, which features six meets at UMBC Aquatics Complex.
"We are excited to welcome Delaware, Johns Hopkins and William and Mary back on our schedule. This schedule is strong and will challenge us a lot this year," said Cradock. "We are also grateful to compete with the programs who have always been loyal to our schedule. We are excited to compete and be challenge to always be our best as we continue to ENJOY IT."
The Retrievers open the season with an exhibition meet against Bucknell on September 29. The first scored meet of the year will be a home tri-meet with Delaware and Johns Hopkins on Saturday, October 6 at 1 p.m. UMBC will travel to Navy on October 12 before hosting back-to-back home meet against William and Mary (October 20) and Towson (October 25).
The Retrievers only meet in the month of November will be at the George Mason Invite from November 15-17 before hosting one final home meet in 2018 against America East member VMI on December 1 at 1 p.m.
The regular season ends as UMBC hosts back-to-back meets, welcoming Howard on January 5 at 2 p.m., and closing out the season with senior day against East Carolina on January 19 at 1 p.m.
The teams will travel to the America East Championships at WPI in Worcester, Mass. on Feb. 14-17. The men look to defend their title, while the women look to win their seventh overall crown.
After the America East Championships, the Retrievers will travel to ECAC Championships (Feb. 22-24), before heading to the NCAA Zone Diving Championships (Mar. 4-7, Annapolis, Md.) and the NCAA Championships, held at Texas March 20-23 for the women and March 27-30 for the men.
