    UMBC Women’s Soccer’s Head Coach Leslie Wray has announced the addition of six players, including three from the state of Maryland, to the Retrievers’ roster. The Dawgs will add Karen Aye (Columbia, Md./St. Johns College), Katherine Berkowitz (Crofton, Md./South River), Jenna Denis (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield), Mikayla Krinetz (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck), Skyler Mackey (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) and Leigh Roth (Valencia, Pa./Pine-Richland).

    UMBC women’s soccer’s junior back Nikki Boretti (Garmisch, Germany/Archbishop Spalding) has been selected to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America Division I Women’s Soccer First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Boretti was one of three members of the first team with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

    The second-seeded UMBC Retrievers women’s soccer team saw its 2014 campaign end on a windy Sunday afternoon at Retriever Soccer Park as No. 3 New Hampshire punched its ticket to the America East Championship game by outlasting UMBC in penalty kicks, 6-5. The two teams played to a 1-1 tie through 110 minutes of action, the second draw between the two squads this season.
