BALTIMORE—Head women's soccer coach Alyssa Radu's contract will not be renewed, UMBC director of athletics Dr. Charles Brown announced today.
Radu came to UMBC in 2008 after four seasons at NJIT. In her four years at UMBC, the Retrievers did not reach the six-team America East Tournament and never finished higher than eighth in the league standings.
A national search for a replacement will begin immediately. Women's soccer is a sport of emphasis in the America East Conference. The UMBC women's soccer team has a full complement of scholarships and plays at the state-of-the-art Retriever Soccer Park, a lighted 1,500-seat Bermuda grass soccer-only facility.
