Boston, Mass. -- Senior pitcher/outfielder Kelly Lane (Albany, N.Y./Colonie Central) has been named America East pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday morning.
Lane allowed just two earned runs (1.40 ERA) over 10 innings pitched over two games on Sunday. She worked three scoreless innings against Lafayette to earn her third save of the year, tying her for second most saves in a season in UMBC history.
The Retrievers (5-14) play their first midweek contest of the season on Wednesday when they travel to D.C. to face Howard (0-10) at 7 p.m. The two teams met on February 17 in Greensboro, NC, and the Lady Bison took a 4-0 lead in the first, but UMBC would score 11 straight and go on to win 12-6.
