French Announces Upcoming Fundraisers for UMBC Softball
BALTIMORE – UMBC softball's head coach Joe French announced a pair of fundraisers for the winter to benefit the Retriever softball program. UMBC softball rescheduled its fall clinic, which will now take place on Sunday, Jan. 26, in addition to the team hosting its sixth annual Bull and Oyster Roast on Saturday, Feb. 8.
"We just had a great fall semester and are gearing up for winter fundraisers," French said. "We hope for another great turnout and to once again see all those that have supported us in the past."
The winter clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Jan. 26, with registration opening at 8:30 a.m. at the RAC auxiliary gymnasium. The clinic will be run by the UMBC softball players and staff, as well as some guest coaches and will be open to all campers ages 11-18. The UMBC program will cover skills in bunting, hitting, pitching, defense and catching. The cost is $55 per camper in advance and $60 per camper at the door. Group rates are available by contacting Coach French.
The annual Bull Roast will make its way back to the Knights of Columbus at the Columbian Center in Severna Park. The night will include music, dancing, raffles and a silent auction. The cost is $42.50 per person in advance and $45 per person at the door.
