UMBC Track and Field Completes Day One of Colonial Relays

Williamsburg, Va.—A handful of Retrievers took to the track on Friday to open up the Colonial Relays. The distance runners led the way at William & Mary, with the sprinters taking the track tomorrow.

Lorenzo Neil earned a 26th place finish in the 3,000m run, clocking in with a time of 8:59.75.

A quartet of Retrievers ran in the 10,000m run, led by Austin Hayslett. Hayslett finished 21st with a time of 31:35.45. Matt Kingeter (22nd, 31:36.22), Eric Smart (26th, 31:49.95), and Elijah Hawkins (34th, 32:24.42) rounded out the field.

On the women's side, Katelyn Callaghan earned an ECAC cut with a 12th place finish in the 10,000m run in a time of 36:43.81. Courtney Mattson (29th, 39:17.16) and Kelsey Ponton (32nd, 39:53.46) rounded out the field.

The Retrievers continue the Colonial Relays tomorrow starting at 11:30 a.m.
