Charlottesville, Va.--The men's tennis team concluded the fall portion of its schedule at the 2010 ITA Atlantic regions at the University of Virginia.
Junior Joseph Adewumi (Phoenix, Ariz./North Canyon) highlighted UMBC's performance and capped an outstanding fall campaign. He advanced two rounds to reach the round of 32 before falling to fifth-seeded Maros Horny of Maryland, 6-2, 6-1. Adewumi ousted William & Mary's Anton Andersson, 6-3, 6-4 and handled VCU's Jordan Dyke, 6-2, 6-1, before dropping the match to his in-state rival.
In other action, sophomore Gaulthier Berret (Lagny Sur Marne, France) defeated Navy's Owen Bullard, 6-4, 6-4 in his opening match before dropping a 6-2, 6-1 decision to Maryland's Sergio Wyss.
Senior Mwali Phie (Yonkers, N.Y./Tuckahoe/Tyler JC) and sophomore Adam Duprat (Bobigny, France) each lost their first round singles matches as did the doubles duos of Phiri/Adewumi and Duprat/Berret.
