UMBC Swimming and Diving Completes Day One of ECAC Championships

Annapolis, Md.—A handful of Retrievers took to the pool on Friday at the ECAC Championships. Nikola Trajkovic led the charge with a second place finish in the 200 IM.

The Serbian native finished the race with silver in a time of 1:48.24, just behind the winner from Navy.

After qualifying for the finals of the 50 free in first and second, Ilia Rattsev and Gregor Spoerlein finished the finals in third and second place respectively. Spoerlein touched in with a time of 20.28, while Rattsev finished in 20.29.

On the women's side, Haylee Committe finished first in the B finals (ninth overall) in the 50 free with a time of 23.68.

Abby Biddulph and Devin Gromen finished five-seven in the 3 meter dive with scores of 220.35 and 190.85 respectively.

Day two of the ECAC Championships kicks off with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. tomorrow from Annapolis.
