Adejumo Named CCSA Swimmer of the Week

Charlotte, N.C.—UMBC swimming and diving junior Philip Adejumo (Elkridge, Md./Howard) was named CCSA (Coastal Collegiate Sports Association) Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon. Adejumo had a big week for UMBC, winning a pair of individual events, and helping a relay to a win against Old Dominion last Saturday.

Adejumo stepped up big for the Retrievers in a 167-124 win against Old Dominion on Saturday. The junior won both butterfly disciplines, and swimming the third leg of the 200 medley relay team that also won. He finished the 100 fly in a time of 50.12, while winning the 200 fly in 1:52.73. He helped the 200 medley relay team to a win in a time of 1:32.61. 

The Retrievers close out the fall semester at the Patriot Invitational, Thursday, Nov. 17 through Saturday, Nov. 19 at George Mason. The meet will kick off with prelims at 10 a.m. and conclude with finals at 6 p.m. each day.
