BALTIMORE – Speedo USA will continue to provide the suits and apparel for the UMBC swimming and diving team for the next six years, UMBC head coach Chad Cradock announced on Wednesday afternoon.
The deal continues a partnership between Speedo USA and UMBC swimming and diving that has been in place since Cradock took over the helm of his alma mater back in 2001.
"We're extremely grateful to Speedo USA for their support of UMBC Athletics and the swimming and diving program," said Cradock. "Our whole program, especially our student-athletes, will benefit from the support that Speedo provides.
"Speedo is a tremendous company that creates excellent apparel for the athletes."
Under Cradock, UMBC has posted a combined 193-64-1 record in dual meets, while winning 18 conference championships. In addition, three Retrievers have reached the NCAA Championships since Cradock took the reins, including Mohamed Hussein who competed in 2013 as well as 2014, and Emily Escobedo who reached the national stage this past March.
"Our program has been loyal to Speedo USA since I took over and I am happy that they have been equally as loyal to us," Cradock stated. "It has been a beneficial partnership and I hope that we can continue with it in the future."
