Swimming and Diving Tangles with George Washington on Saturday
UMBC will head to our nation’s capital on Saturday for the last dual meet of the fall. The Retrievers are coming off sweeps at the CCSA North Invitational last Saturday and Sunday. In the process, head coach Chad Cradock earned his 200th career victory.

Sporlein and Green Earn Second Straight CCSA Swimmer and Diver of the Week Honors
Sophomore Gregor Sporlein (Bamberg, Germany/Clavius Gymnasium) and senior Ryan Green (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) earned their second straight CCSA (Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association) Swimmer and Diver of the Week honors. The tandem led the Retrievers past Gardner Webb, NJIT, and VMI this past weekend, earning Coach Chad Cradock his 200th career win.

Cradock Records 200th Career Win at CCSA North Invite
The UMBC swimming and diving teams completed the CCSA North Invitational with wins over NJIT, VMI and Gardner-Webb on Sunday. In the process, head coach Chad Cradock recorded his 200th career win. Cradock also becomes the winningest coach in program history, surpassing Sid Burkot.

UMBC Starts CCSA North Invite on a Strong Note
The UMBC swimming and diving teams had a strong showing on day one of the CCSA North Invitational on Saturday. Several Retrievers won their events, including the men taking both relays. Junior Coco Darelius (Rye, N.Y./Rye) set a school record on the 3 meter boards. Coco scored a 300.60 on Saturday.

Retrievers Host CCSA North Invite This Weekend
The UMBC swimming and diving teams will host the CCSA North Invitational this weekend, October 18-19. The teams are coming off of losses at Navy this past Wednesday. Both squads are 1-1 on the year.

UMBC Falls at Navy on Wednesday
The UMBC swimming and diving teams fell to Navy on Wednesday. The men fell 151-138, while the women lost 154.5-143.5. Both the men and the women fall to 1-1 on the year.

Green and Sporlein Earn CCSA Honors; UMBC Returns to Action on Wednesday at Navy
The UMBC swimming and diving teams travel to Annapolis for a midweek meet against Navy. The Retrievers are coming off wins against Rider on Saturday. Both senior Ryan Green (Ellitcott City, Md./Centennial) and sophomore Gregor Sporlein (Bamberg, Germany/Clavius Gymnasium) earned CCSA Diver and Swimmer of the Week honors on Tuesday.

UMBC Downs Rider on Homecoming Weekend
The UMBC swimming and diving teams opened the dual meet season with wins against Rider. The men took a 158-125 victory, while the women were 156-115 winners.

Swimming and Diving Opens Their Home Slate Against Rider on Saturday
The UMBC swimming and diving teams play host to Rider University on Saturday. The meet with the Broncs will be a part of the Homecoming Weekend festivities on campus.

Retrievers Have Strong Showing at Bucknell on Sunday
The UMBC men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams competed in their first dual meet of the season at Bucknell on Sunday. The exhibition meet saw the Retrievers compete and win in a majority of the events.

Swimming and Diving Opens Up the 2014-15 Season at Bucknell on Sunday
The UMBC swimming and diving squads open up the season with an exhibition meet in Lewisburg, Pa. on Sunday. The Retrievers and Bison are set to begin at 1:00 p.m from the Kinney Natatorium.

UMBC swimming and diving coach Chad Cradock has announced the schedule for the 2014-15 season. The Retrievers will look to improve on their second place finish from a year ago.

UMBC Swimming and Diving Welcomes Brandt Nigro as New Assistant Coach
Brandt Nigro joins the UMBC Swimming and Diving staff as an assistant coach for 2014-15, head coach Chad Cradock announced this week. Nigro comes to Baltimore from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.

BALTIMORE – Speedo USA will continue to provide the suits and apparel for the UMBC swimming and diving team for the next six years, UMBC head coach Chad Cradock announced on Wednesday afternoon.
