How We Got Here:

  • Penn threatened just minutes later with a diving header, but the Retriever defense blocked the attempt before it could reach Quantrell Jones (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood)

  • Matt Bailey (Stevensville, Md./Saints Peter and Paul) had a chance late in the half, but his strike went just over the crossbar as the teams went into the break tied 0-0.

  • The Quakers had the first good chance of the second half off a corner kick, but the shot went just past the post in the 61st minute.

  • Jackson Becher (Hummelstown, Pa.) had a pair of chances in the 74th minute after the ball pinballed in front, but his shots were blocked.

  • Penn nearly took the lead late, but the shot clanged off the crossbar, as the two sides headed to extra time.

  • Tre Pulliam (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) sent a ball to Cesare Marconi (Loano, Italy) in the 93rd minute, but his shot sailed high.

  • Colin Weyant (Perry Hall, Md./Perry Hall) had a chance stopped in the 105th minute, and the rebound by James Gielen (Edgewater, Md./DeMatha) and a rebound in front that was stymied to keep it scoreless.
