    UMBC men’s soccer fell, 2-0 to #12 Western Michigan on Saturday night, as the Broncos got a first half goal, adding one in the second half in the win. UMBC was led by Gregg Hauck (Linthicum, Md./North County) and Cormac Noel (Todmorden, England) led the way with two shots each, as the Retrievers fall to 5-2-1 on the year.

    UMBC men’s soccer will continue their home stand with #12 Western Michigan on Saturday night at Retriever Soccer Park, the first of three straight against ranked teams. The Retrievers are coming off a 2-0 win against Navy on Wednesday night. Junior Patrick Jean-Gilles (Woodbridge, Va./South County) and sophomore Tre Pulliam (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) scored goals, with Pulliam adding an assist as UMBC improves to 5-1-1.
  • UMBC Uses Strong First Half to Sink Navy, 2-0 on Wednesday

    The UMBC men’s soccer team used a pair of first half goals by Patrick Jean-Gilles (Woodbridge, Va./South County) and Tre Pulliam (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) to move to 5-1-1 on the year and improve their unbeaten streak to four games.
  • Men’s Soccer to Face Navy on Wednesday Night

    UMBC Men’s Soccer (4-1-1) returns home for a matchup against Navy (1-5-0) on Wednesday night. UMBC comes home to Retriever Park to look for a victory after ending in a 1-1 draw on Saturday at George Washington. George Washington netted the first goal of the game from Oscar Haynes Brown in the first half. The Retrievers outshot the Colonials 23-16, and in the 56th minute of the game, Senior midfielder Gregg Hauck Linthicum, Md./North County) scored to even the score at 1-1.
  • Saunderson Named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week

    UMBC men’s soccer junior fullback Kyle Saunderson (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) was named to College Soccer News’ National Team of the Week, as announced on Monday. Saunderson helped the Retrievers to a 1-0-1 week, scoring two goals against 19th-ranked West Virginia in a 3-1 win on Wednesday.
  • Hauck Nets Equalizer; UMBC Men’s Soccer Draws 1-1 with George Washington

    Senior midfielder Gregg Hauck (Linthicum, Md./North County) scored in the 56th minute after UMBC was trailing 1-0 to force a 1-1 draw against George Washington on Saturday. The Retrievers fell behind after 19 minutes, but earned the draw to move to 4-1-1 on the year.

    UMBC men’s soccer looks to win their third straight when they travel to George Washington on Saturday afternoon. The Retrievers are coming off a huge 3-1 upset of #19 West Virginia on Wednesday. Junior Kyle Saunderson (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) scored twice with freshman Matt Bailey (Stevensville, Md./Saints Peter and Paul) providing two assists in the win.

    UMBC men’s soccer upset #19 West Virginia, 3-1 on Wednesday night at Retriever Soccer Park. Junior back Kyle Saunderson (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) scored twice to lead the Retrievers to victory. Freshman Matt Bailey (Stevensville, Md./Saints Peter and Paul) had two assists in the match as UMBC improves to 3-0 at home and 4-1 on the year.
  • Men's Soccer Returns Home to take on West Virginia on Wednesday Night

    UMBC men's soccer returns home to host West Virginia (3-0-2) on Wednesday. The Retrievers return home after two road games, most recently knocking off Monmouth in overtime, 2-1 on Saturday to move to 3-1-0 on the year. Senior Gregg Hauck (Linthicum, Md./North County) scored the game winner just two minutes into overtime, after classmate Cormac Noel (Todmorden, England) got the equalizer in the second half.

    Senior midfielder Gregg Hauck (Linthicum, Md./North County) provided the heroics on Saturday, scoring the game winner in overtime in a 2-1 win against Monmouth. Classmate Cormac Noel (Todmorden, England) tied the game midway through the second half after UMBC was down 1-0.

The Retrievers dropped a 5-2 decision to Villanova last Saturday with seniors Sammy Kahsai (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) and Tom Paul (Stalybridge, Cheshire, England) netting the UMBC goals as the team drops to 2-1-0 on the year.

    UMBC men's soccer fell, 5-2 to the Wildcats on Saturday afternoon at Villanova. The Retrievers got goals from seniors Sammy Kahsai (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) and Tom Paul (Stalybridge, Cheshire, England) in the loss that drops the team to 2-1 on the year.
  • Men's Soccer Heads to the City of Brotherly Love to Face Villanova on Saturday

    UMBC men's soccer is off to a fast start in 2017, and will look to move to 3-0 on the year as they travel to Villanova for their first road contest of the season. The Retrievers are coming off a 3-0 victory against Howard on Monday, that saw the Bison score two own goals, and sophomore Colin Weyant (Perry Hall, Md./Perry Hall) netting his first goal of the season.
  • UMBC Men’s Soccer Blanks Howard 3-0 on Monday Night in Front of a Record Crowd

    UMBC men’s soccer took down Howard, 3-0 with a record crowd on hand at Retriever Soccer Park. 2,873 fans packed the stands and hill, as UMBC got two own goals and a goal from sophomore Colin Weyant (Perry Hall, Md./Perry Hall) in the 80th minute to move to 2-0 on the year. 
  • Men’s Soccer Welcomes Howard to Retriever Soccer Park on Monday Night

    UMBC men’s soccer will welcome the Bison to Retriever Soccer Park on Monday night after the Retrievers took down Bryant, 1-0 in the season opener. Junior Kyle Saunderson (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) scored the game winner in the 55th minute, moving UMBC to 1-0 on the year.
  • UMBC Men’s Soccer Downs Bryant, 1-0 in Season Opener

    Junior back Kyle Saunderson (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) netted the game winner in the 55th minute to lift UMBC past Bryant on Friday night. The Retrievers held the Bulldogs at bay for most of the game, as freshman keeper Ciaran O’Loughlin (Birkenhead, England) recorded his first collegiate shutout. 
  • UMBC Men’s Soccer Opens 2017 Campaign Against Bryant on Friday Night

    UMBC men’s soccer kicks off the 2017 season with a home match against Bryant at Retriever Soccer Park. The game is part of a double-header with the women, who play UNCW at 5 p.m. Last year the Retrievers finished the season at 5-9-3, 0-7-0 AE.
  • Men’s Soccer Ready for the Challenge in 2017

    UMBC men’s soccer kicks off the 2017 season against Bryant on Friday, looking to rebound from a challenging year in 2016. The Retrievers finished the year at 5-9-3, 0-7-0 AE last year, missing the America East Tournament for the first time since 2008. However, with a young team a year ago, head coach Pete Caringi Jr., who enters his 27th season as head coach, knows the team is eager and ready to take on the talented field of league foes and get back to the America East playoffs.
  • UMBC Men’s Soccer Picked to Finish Sixth in Preseason Poll

    UMBC men’s soccer was voted to finish sixth in the 2017 America East preseason coaches’ poll, as announced on Tuesday. Preseason poll voting was conducted by the conference’s eight head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own teams.
