Men's Soccer Releases Spring Schedule

BALTIMORE– The UMBC men's soccer team has released the schedule for their upcoming spring matches. They have scheduled six matches for the remainder of the semester, including some regional heavyweights.

The Retrievers face USL side Harrisburg City in their opening matchup, which will be played at Millersville (Pa.) University, in their only matchup away from home on Friday, March 7. To begin the home slate, the Retrievers take on 2012 NCAA Championship runner-up Georgetown, on Saturday, March 29th at Retriever Soccer Park (7:00 p.m.).
UMBC hosts its second annual Kicks for Chase match against 2014 NCAA Championship finalist Maryland on Friday, April 11th. Though this game represents a match-up between two powerhouse teams, the focus will be on the cause it supports. The teams are raising funds to benefit children born with Down Syndrome in the memory of Chase Bugarin. Chase, son of UMBC soccer standout Bryan Bugarin, passed away in December of 2012 after an 11-week battle. Admission is free, and all donations will benefit the ARC Foundation of Harford County.
"This is without question the best spring schedule we have had at UMBC," said head coach Pete Carnigi, Jr.   "Our hope is to see constant improvement from within as we play the best teams from this region," Caringi said.
