Caringi, Dacres Invited to 2014 MLS Player Combine

New York, N.Y. – UMBC seniors Pete Caringi III (Perry Hall, Md./Calvert Hall) and Kadeem Dacres (Rosedale, N.Y./Mercer County CC) were among the 50 NCAA Division I college seniors invited to showcase their talents at the 2014 adidas Major League Soccer Player Combine from January 10-14 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The Retriever standouts  will hope to do enough to impress the 19 MLS coaching staffs on hand to get selected in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft that will take place on January 16 in Philadelphia (noon ET).

The 50 seniors were selected be a committee consisting of NCAA Division I coaches and MLS representatives. They will be joined at the adidas MLS Player Combine by other seniors, including from lower NCAA divisions, underclassmen who sign Generation adidas contracts and other international invitees.

Levi Houapeu was the most recent Retriever to receive an invitation after his senior campaign in 2011.  He was selected by and signed with the Philadelphia Union in that winter's SuperDraft.
