2013: Started all 20 contests at predominantly at left back for the Retrievers… Filled in at wide (left) midfield due to injuries… Tied for third on the squad with four assists… Picked up an assist in the 3-1 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn on Sept. 7… Scored his second career game-winning goal when he long attempt found the net in the 103 rd minute in a 3-2 victory over NCAA Tournament participant Navy on Sept. 17… Scored a game-tying goal in the 59’ on a rebound as the Retrievers eventually overtook Vermont, 2-1, on Oct. 16… Registered assists in three of UMBC’s last five games, including a helper in each America East Tournament affair… Played the last 1,737 minutes of the season.
2012: Made the transition from a forward/midfielder position to a starter at left fullback for the Retrievers… Used his length and athletic ability to become a solid defender and gave the Retrievers an offensive threat out of the back… In his first action of the year, drew the primary assist on the game’s first goal, scored by Pete Caringi III, in an eventual 1-1 draw vs. VCU on Aug. 30… Posted his second career game-winner when he buried a rebound in the 19’ minute in UMBC’s 2-1 victory at GW on Sept. 22… Added an assist in the 7-1 triumph over Hartford on Oct. 24.
2011: Saw action in all 18 games and started five in his initial collegiate campaign… Had the distinction of being named 2011’s first America East Rookie of the Week… Scored the lone goal in the 59th minute as the Retrievers edged Mount St. Mary’s, 1-0, in the Aug. 27 opener… Was the lone UMBC freshman to start that opening day contest… Also drew an assist on Pete Caringi’s game-tying goal in an eventual 2-1 victory vs. Albany on Oct. 1.
Background: Majoring in computer science… Amassed amazing numbers during his tenure on Maryland’s eastern shore… Set school and conference records for goals and total points in a single season with 37 and 90 respectively in 2010… Tallied 73 goals and 46 assists in his varsity tenure for the Warriors… Earned First Team All-Conference honors in 2009 and 2010… A member of two state championship teams at Pocomoke in 2007 and 2008… Scored the game-tying goal and insurance marker in 2008 state title win (3-1) over Boonsboro at UMBC Stadium… Also earned All-Conference honors in baseball… A member of the National Honor Society… Chose UMBC “because of the quality of the soccer program along with the quality education”… Older brother Logan competed in men’s soccer for U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in 2010… Also has a younger sister, Peyton, who is 15… Lists favorite professional team as AC Milan and favorite musical artist is AC/DC… Performed a video internship with UMBC’s Office of Athletic Communications in the spring of 2013… Son of Lori and Paul Becker… Born Sept. 25, 1992.
