Matt Gregoire Tabbed as AE Fans' Choice POY Nominee

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – UMBC men's lacrosse senior attackman Matt Gregoire (Crofton, Md./South River) was nominated for the 2014 America East Men's Lacrosse Fans' Choice Player of the Year, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Gregoire leads the team with 36 goals and 39 points. Against the Mount, he recorded UMBC's first six-goal goal since Scott Jones scored six times versus Vermont on April 6, 2013. Entering the week, he is fifth nationally with 3.0 goals per game and the 36 goals are tied for the 11th-most in UMBC school history for a single season.      

Gregoire now has 13 career games with three or more goals scored, including seven in 2014. He now has 94 career points (84-10-94), needing six more to become the 31st player in school history to reach the 100-point plateau.
Voting will go until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29 and can be done on the America East Facebook Page. The winner will be announced that evening via release at AmericaEast.com.
