UMBC Athletics Announces Partnership With V-1370 Radio, Jomar Productions For Televised Soccer Games

For the seventh consecutive year, V-1370AM ( will be the flagship station of the UMBC Retrievers. The Pikesville-based sister-station of WCBM 680 will air all 29 UMBC men’s basketball games, 10 women’s basketball games, and 10 men’s lacrosse games live over-the-air and via its streaming site.

For Retriever soccer fans, “The Pete Caringi UMBC Soccer Show” will debut on V-1370 on Thursday, Oct. 6 and air each week through Thursday, Nov. 3 from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. The new program, hosted by Paul Mittermeier, will be taped at Gianni’s Italian Bistro in Arbutus at 11:30 a.m. on the same day of the broadcast. It will feature student-athletes, special guests and UMBC alumni, and the insight of the 21-year veteran mentor of UMBC Soccer.

V-1370 will air 29 coaches’ shows throughout the year, as “The UMBC Randy Monroe Basketball Show” will start on Nov. 10, followed by “The UMBC Don Zimmerman Lacrosse Show” on March 15.

Moreover, UMBC Athletics and Jomar Productions will produce three men’s soccer games that will be broadcast live on WMAR-TV’s digital channel, the Live Well Network. The package debuts on Tues., Sept. 13 as the Retrievers host nationally-ranked Maryland at 7:00 p.m. at Retriever Soccer Park. The other two broadcasts are slated for Tues., Oct. 4 vs. Bucknell (7:00 p.m.) and Wed., Oct. 19 vs. Penn State (7:00 p.m.).

Mittermeier will also serve as play-by-play broadcaster for those televised games.

More About V-1370: In concert with its affiliation with America’s Radio News Network, V-1370 on will now feature local news, weather, traffic and sports provided by its Maryland News Center. V-1370 will continue its relationship with Fox Sports Radio for mid-day updates, and evening and weekend programs from Fox Sports Talk. It is the Baltimore affiliate for MRN Radio, which broadcasts NASCAR events, the Washington Capitals and the Washington Wizards.

More About Live Well Network: The Live Well Network will launch in Baltimore on Sept. 5. WMAR-TV joined eight other Scripps stations in major markets in affiliating with the ABC Owned Television group, bringing the number of affiliates to 25 and reaching 40 of the U.S.’s television households. The Live Well Network will feature a mix of local programming with home, health and lifestyle programming. The channel can be accessed over the air at channel 2.2, on Comcast on channel 204, and on Verizon on channel 463.
