Retriever fans can now sign up to receive alerts from all of their favorite sports at UMBC.
To get started, fans must update or download the UMBC Front Row app in either the Apple App Store or on Google Play. Upon launching the updated version, fans can click the "More" tab located at the bottom right corner of the screen and select "Notifications." A pop-up option will appear to allow UMBC Front Row to send users push notifications and after accepting, fans will be able to choose which sports for which they want to receive alerts.
Currently, users can only opt-in to receive all alerts from a particular sport. As of now, notifications will be limited to the following times – Goals, halftime, and final scores for soccer, each set for volleyball, records and team results for cross country as well as track and field, halftime and final scores for basketball, each quarter scores for men’s lacrosse, every 15 minutes on the clock for women’s lacrosse, and every three innings for baseball and softball. In addition, breaking news, such as a rain delay for baseball or a career milestone met by coaches and student-athletes, will be sent.
In addition to scores and live stats (when available), UMBC Front Row provides fans with the ability to launch audio and video feeds of Retriever competitions, see upcoming events, and find information and stats for particular sports. Fans can also follow along with up-to-the-minute news by viewing the department's Twitter profiles all in one place.
