Baltimore, Md. – The UMBC baseball team looks to continue their conference success at Albany this weekend for a three-game series. The Retrievers extended their win streak to three with a 10-2 victory as Georgetown on Wednesday to kick off their ten game road trip.

Scouting the Retrievers (14-17):
-The Retrievers currently sit in second place in the America East behind Binghamton. They won their most recent series against UMass Lowell, dropping the first game 6-2 and then winning the last two both by scores of 5-2. This past Wednesday, the Retrievers downed Georgetown, 10-2 behind a season best 18 hits.
-Junior Collin Stack (Jamestown, N.Y./Monroe CC) leads the team in hitting with a .354 average, while classmate Jamie Switalksi (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) is sports an average of .319 and leads the team in doubles (13) and is tied with senior Hunter Dolshun (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) for the lead in home runs with four. Dolshun leads the team in RBI with 24.
-Junior Matt Chanin (Olney, Md./Sherwood) leads the team on the mound with a 4.74 ERA, while seniors Joe Vanderplas (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) and Michael Austin (Eldersburg, Md./Bethune-Cookman) are right behind him with ERAs of 5.06 and 5.00 respectively.
Scouting the Great Danes (14-20):
-The Great Danes are coming off a four-game series split against Marist over the weekend, and an 8-4 victory against Iona on Wednesday afternoon. They currently sit in last place in the conference.
-They are led at the plate by Kevin Donati and Conner Powers. Donati leads the team in hitting with a .339 average, 42 hits, 25 runs scored, three triples, and 26 RBI. Powers sports a .304 average and leads the team in doubles with 11. Marc Wangenstein and Travis Collins lead the Great Danes in homeruns with five each.
-Jack McClure leads the team on the mound with a 2.12 ERA and a 3-0 record, allowing nine runs (eight earned) and a .220 average against. Dominic Savino leads the team in saves with three.
-The Retrievers and Great Danes have met 54 times since 2004, with Albany leading the series 34-20.
-The two teams met most recently in a series at UMBC Alumni Field at the end of March, where the Retrievers won two of the three games.
-The Retrievers will continue their road trip next week with a single game at Navy on Tuesday afternoon, and then a weekend series at Maine.
