Stony Brook, N.Y.—UMBC baseball picked up a 6-3 win in extra innings against the Seawolves on Sunday. Freshman AJ Wright (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) went 3-4 with a solo home run and an RBI triple in the win that improves the Retrievers to 20-20, 8-9 AE on the year.
Neither team could break through early, as both sides remained scoreless through the first five innings. The Retrievers got a two run single from Andrew Casali (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) in the sixth, scoring Anthony Gatto (Hauppauge, N.Y./Smithtown West) and Hunter Dolshun (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) after an error by David Real.
