Daniel LaHatte was named Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at UMBC in October 2011.
LaHatte, a Cockeysville, Md. native, is the university's Coordinator for Public Relations, as well as serving as the primary contact for the volleyball, men's and women's swimming and diving, cross country, track and field, and baseball teams.
Before coming to UMBC, LaHatte spent a year at Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Md. as an assistant to the Sports Information Department. In his time with the Mustangs, he served as the primary contact for the sports of men's and women's soccer.
In addition to his work at Stevenson, LaHatte worked as a history teacher at Dulaney High School as well as coaching the the Varsity tennis and men's soccer teams for the Lions.
He also spent time in the media working as an assistant producer at WBAL-TV Sports in Baltimore.
LaHatte earned his bachelor's degree in Telecommunication from the University of Florida's School of Journalism and Communications in May 2010.
