Mike D'Archangelo is entering his 15th year at UMBC. After heading up the department's physical education and recreation divisions for 10 years, he has now led the Retrievers' efforts with corporate partners, and in marketing and promotions for the past three years.
As assistant athletic director for marketing, and promotions, D’Archangelo is responsible for all 17 NCAA Division I sports and 75+ ticketed home events.
D’Archangelo and his team have set high standards for the UMBC Athletics Corporate Partners program in sponsorship, including:
-FY15 goal met and exceeded--582% increase in sales from prior year
-FY16 goal met and exceeded--212% increase in sales from prior year
-Sold first-ever court-logo package
-Sold packages that included over 100 different corporate category assets (television, radio, web, webcast, digital, signage, event, email, social, print, in-game, game day, tickets, appearances)
Originally from Annapolis, Md., D’Archangelo attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where he played baseball for the Terrapins four years and was named to the ACC All-Academic Honor Roll. He graduated with a degree in sports marketing/management and did coursework towards an master’s degree at Goucher College in athletic administration.
D’Archangelo resides in Columbia, Md.
