Goodwin, who also works with the department's community outreach initiatives, had been working as an academic coach and intern in the department since February 2012.

Prior to joining the Retrievers’ staff, Goodwin worked with the Baltimore Ravens for eight years in the organization’s advertising, community relations, and ticketing operations departments. Beginning in 2003, Goodwin managed the Ravens’ Ticket Office and assisted in the creation of the team’s Customer Service Initiative. Following a move to the advertising sector, she created and coordinated the team’s business ventures. After another internal move, this time to Community Relations, she organized and managed the Ravens’ community involvement and foundation efforts through event planning and media relations efforts.

A native of Satellite Beach, Fla., Goodwin attended the University of Florida to play soccer for the Gators. As a freshman, she became the first Gator rookie to earn NSCAA All-America Honors and was named the 1997 SEC Freshman of the Year. After Florida won the 1998 National Championship with Goodwin on the sidelines due to knee surgery, she returned for her sophomore campaign to earn a spot on the conference all-tournament team. A co-captain as a senior in 2001, Goodwin was again selected to the All-America Team and was named the Verizon Academic All-American of the Year as well.

Goodwin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise & Sport Sciences from Florida in 2001 and finished her Masters in Gainesville just two years later. She then returned to school to complete her Master’s of Science in Sociology at Morgan State in 2011.

Goodwin and her husband Rory now reside in Baltimore, Md. with their son Malachi.
