Sept. 2 - Sept. 8, 2013
Junior Eric Schuler took top individual honors and led the way as the UMBC cross country team won the America East Pre-Conference Meet at Binghamton. The Columbia, Md. native paced the field with the second-fastest time in the 8k course’s 13-year Division I era, crossing the line in 25:33.1.
Schuler’s winning run is the first of his career, and mark the second time that he has led the Retrievers across the finish line after pacing the squad at the 2012 Mason Invitational. Last season, Schuler set career-bests at both the 5k and 8k distances which rank fifth and tenth, respectively, in UMBC program history.
