Alexa Quaranta, Women's Soccer, Sophomore

Sept. 30 - Oct. 6, 2013

Sophomore Alexa Quaranta (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) helped UMBC rebound from back-to-back losses by recording both of the Retrievers’ game-winning goals in a 2-0 week for the black and gold. Quaranta guided UMBC to a 1-0 double overtime victory at Binghamton on Thursday, the sophomore’s first career game-winner. The Baltimore native chipped in the eventual game-winner 1:04 into the second half in a 3-1 win versus Albany on Sunday. Quaranta’s career-high 10 shots against the Great Danes was the most for a Retriever since Oct. 24, 2004.

Quaranta earned America East Player of the Week recognition, the first of her career and the fourth for the Retrievers this season.
