Senior setter Mallory McIntyre was named the America East Setter of the Year while also earning a place on the All-Conference First Team for the second consecutive season. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native led the conference with a 10.28 assists per set average during the regular season and then led UMBC to the conference championship match with 33 assists in a three-set sweep of Albany in the semifinals. In the final contest against New Hampshire, McIntyre handed out 56 assists and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
After taking the reins as the Retrievers’ setter as a junior in 2012, McIntyre finished her career with 2,049 assists, the eighth-highest total in program history. Her 1,127 assists in 2013 puts her tenth all-time in the UMBC record book while her 10.34 assists per set average as a senior ties as the sixth-best in Retriever history.
