Mohamed Hussein broke three individual school records and achieved three NCAA “B” cuts as the UMBC men’s swimming and diving team finished second at the CCSA Championships. The Cairo, Egypt native won two individual gold medals, in addition to a silver, while also helping the Retrievers capture two relays golds. Following the conclusion of the four-day meet, Hussein was named the CCSA Most Outstanding Male Swimmer of the Meet.
During UMBC’s 5-2 dual meet season, Hussein won a team-best 12 individual events and aided the Retrievers in winning nine relays, including the 200 medley (1:32.44) and 200 free relays (1:23.70) against Howard which both set new UMBC Aquatic Complex record times. He was named the CCSA Swimmer of the Week three times during the season.
