Feb. 10-16

Freshman Emily Escobedo was named the Most Outstanding Swimmer and the Most Outstanding Rookie at the 2014 America East Swimming and Diving Championships.  The New Rochelle, N.Y. native fueled the Retrievers’ third-straight second-place finish by capturing individual gold in the 100-yd. (1:01.58) and 200-yd. (2:12.11) breaststroke events.  Escobedo set new school records and achieved NCAA “B” cuts in both events, as well as the 200-yd. IM (2:00.63).  She won a bronze medal in the 200 IM while also helping the UMBC 200 medley relay win gold and the 200 free relay take silver.
